River Energy South Africa (“RESA”) is a clean energy company focused on providing an integrated coarse to ultra-fine waste coal to energy solution through its unique suite of capabilities, processes and technologies.
RESA manages a coal waste processing business currently recovering ~5mt per annum of waste coal, delivering product into the domestic and export markets, and implementing its ultra-fines solutions in partnership with key sector participants.
RESA is uniquely positioned to capitalise on South Africa’s >1Bt of historical discard coal in tailings and the estimated 60Mt of new waste coal produced each year from current mining operations which is enough coal to provide South Africa with more than 10 years of energy.
RESA’s “green carbon” product has a significantly lower green house gas footprint than primary coal, has a measurable environmental and social impact and provides part of the solution for South Africa to complete its journey to a sustainable & just energy transition.
